Key Job Responsibilities

The ideal candidate for this role is someone who understands a sales organization. This role is responsible for developing sales optimization strategies that effectively prepare and equip the sales organization for meeting individual and organizational goals. This person works closely with sales leaders to develop key strategies, processes, and mechanisms.


We are looking for a Sales Optimization Leader who will drive:

  1. Sales Optimization Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive sales optimization strategy that aligns with business goals and drives sales performance. Collaborate with sales leadership to identify gaps in sales processes and recommend solutions.
  2. Sales Continuous Improvement: Recommend programs, workshops, and upskilling opportunities to improve the skills and knowledge of the sales team. Create and maintain sales plays, playbooks, first call materials, and other sales-facing resources. Cross-collaborate with teams to drive change initiatives to drive sales improvements.
  3. Change Management, Technology, and Tools: Evaluate, implement, and manage sales enablement tools and technologies to support the sales team. Ensure the sales team is effectively utilizing sales tools. Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of sales enablement initiatives.

The preferred location for this position is Arlington, VA (HQ2) but open to Seattle, WA.


Minimum Requirements

  • 7+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, or a related field
  • Experience creating content for leaders of complex tech organizations: digital, written, video, and/or audio communications materials
  • Experience using Salesforce (or other CRM tool) or BI tools
  • Experience presenting to senior leadership
  • Advanced knowledge in Excel
  • Ability to exercise high judgment, particularly in narrow time-frames and when dealing with ambiguity
  • Proven track record of taking ownership, leading data-driven analyses, and influencing results
  • Experience executing highly successful, creative, and complex communications plans

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $120,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $199,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
