A prominent trial and litigation group is seeking an enthusiastic attorney to join a dynamic trial team in downtown Los Angeles. This team represents both public and private entities in various matters, including employment litigation, personal injury, sexual misconduct, and class actions. The ideal candidate will be eager to enhance their litigation and trial skills as part of a growing practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently manage cases from responsive pleading through trial preparation
- Prepare pleadings, discovery motions, dispositive motions, and other legal filings
- Conduct both affirmative and responsive discovery
- Take and defend depositions, including those of experts
- Attend court conferences, hearings, and mediations
- Conduct legal research
- Assist in trial preparation and trial activities
Qualifications:
- Admitted to practice in California
- 5-8 years of litigation/trial experience
- Strong academic background and solid work history
- Experience in state and federal courts
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent oral advocacy and communication skills
- Strong research, writing, and analytical abilities
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Capacity to manage sensitive matters with discretion
- Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Quick problem-solving capabilities
- A strong desire to engage in trial work
Location: Candidates must be based in Los Angeles or Orange County. While in-office presence is not required, willingness to travel for trials, in-person client meetings, and depositions is essential.
