SUMMARY

Develops activities to automate material handling activities and establish automated information transfer between either existing (or new) processes, industrial management software, and ERP systems.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Design automated material handling solutions to establish new and improved existing material flows throughout the factory. The design could include material arrival at docks, delivery to line-side locations, material transport between internal manufacturing lines, buffer/storage systems, robotic material handling solutions. Solutions will handle a large variety of products, pallets, carts, trays, etc.


Concept development, engineering design, and collaboration with 3rd parties on system build, integration, and testing.


Responsible for specifying equipment in form of project specifications and requirements.


Leveraging outside partners for solution development and design.


Communication with internal and external customers and vendors about project status, critical items and priorities.


Support troubleshooting during installation and start-up and trains personnel on how to operate new equipment.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Technical Bachelor’s degree (B.S) from four-year college or university and one to two years related experience recommended.


LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.



MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.


REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
