Job Description

Research, analyze, and internalize the 'As Is' and 'To Be' of the Infrastructure Environment, including Hardware, Software, Network, and Communication. Work closely with PM and Stakeholders to identify legacy and new technology tools and frameworks. This is NOT an operational role. Gather data both internally and externally for the development, maintenance, and deployment of infrastructure services.

Understand and articulate the requirements in terms of infrastructure encompassing hardware, LAN and WAN services, telephony services, electrical supply (UPS, Generator), cooling, and fire suppressant systems, ensuring the availability of infrastructure services. Design, implement, support, monitor, and maintain infrastructure software platforms, including but not limited to server/client operating systems, messaging and database services, reporting platforms, Citrix, VPN, Web Services, web proxies, and communication protocols including but not limited to CICS, SNA, TCP/IP.

Develop operational, installation, configuration, and upgrade documentation for communication systems, hardware, network, security, storage, software, and other computer-related systems. Serve as a liaison between other technical staff, management, users, and vendors regarding service requests, usage, standards, security, and other technical matters. Provide on-site or remote access diagnoses and resolution of computer hardware and software problems.

Qualifications

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science and/or related field
  • Professional certification in the areas of communication/infrastructure/architecture or equivalent
  • Minimum 4 years of ‘Hands-On’ demonstrated success in working in a data center/infrastructure environment involving protocols, interfaces, etc.
  • Demonstrated analytical, communication (verbal and written), and facilitation skills
  • Self-driven individual who can work in a team environment
  • Ability to excel and contribute in outcome-driven, results-based engagements

Desirable Requirements:

  • Master's in Computer Science/Computer Engineering
  • Proven research skills in the areas of trends and effectiveness of the technology and tools while understanding and maintaining legacy
  • Past performance in modernization efforts
  • Experience with overseeing and developing a strategic infrastructure roadmap
  • Experience in Proposal Lifecycle Management with regard to Infrastructure
  • Prior experience with Government and Procurement activities
