Description
Overview:
The Airfreight and Sea Freight Import Agent is responsible for managing import logistics via air and sea, ensuring compliance and maintaining service quality standards. The role involves coordinating with clients, vendors, and government agencies to guarantee smooth and efficient shipment handling from arrival to final delivery.
Key Responsibilities
  • Import Coordination : Manage logistics operations for air and sea imports, ensuring seamless coordination of shipments to meet deadlines.
  • Client Management : Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing timely shipment updates and addressing any concerns.
  • Government Compliance : Coordinate with US Customs, USDA, and other agencies to ensure all import activities comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Documentation : Prepare and process necessary import documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Container Freight Station (CFS) Operations : Oversee CFS shipments and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Vendor & Partner Communication : Liaise with vendors, consignees, and agents to facilitate daily updates and resolve shipment issues.
  • Delivery Coordination : Assist in scheduling and coordinating deliveries to align with client timelines.
  • Internal Collaboration : Partner with internal teams to ensure service delivery meets established standards.
  • Invoicing : Generate invoices for clients in accordance with company guidelines and timeframes.
  • Compliance & Security : Maintain adherence to TSA, USCBP, and USDA regulations and ensure all security protocols are followed.
Qualifications
About You:
  • You Have Educational Background : You hold an Associate's degree or have equivalent experience in logistics or a related field.
  • You Bring Industry Experience : You have 2-3 years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or a similar industry.
  • You Possess Strong Communication Skills : You are proficient in written and verbal communication, capable of explaining complex topics and building strong client relationships.
  • You Excel in Technology : You are proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and can navigate digital tools for logistics management.
  • You Have Analytical Skills : You are comfortable with freight rate calculations and have a basic understanding of accounting principles.
  • Attention to Detail : You are meticulous with documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance in every task.
  • Customer Focus : You prioritize client satisfaction, proactively addressing their needs and maintaining professional relationships.
  • Problem Solving : You approach challenges with a solution-oriented mindset and can adapt to changes quickly.
  • Teamwork & Collaboration : You thrive in a collaborative environment and are always willing to support your team to achieve shared goals.
