Civil Engineer

Our client is seeking a full time Civil Field Engineer to join their onsite team for their solar project located in Karnak, Illinois.

Position

The Civil Field Engineer role is a field-based position that will perform engineering duties in planning, designing, and overseeing construction. The ideal candidate will have civil engineering experience, ideally related to solar power, solar plants or industrial construction projects

Responsibilities

• Extensive understanding of the scope of work, contract, plans, and specifications.
• Ability to identify any discrepancies and obtain resolution.
• Interface and collaborate with Site Superintendents and track their coordinating of 3 week look ahead schedules
• Ability to track and report work progress
• Generate Requests for information and collaborate with Design Engineer.
• Review test reports for specification compliance and provide to Quality Control.
• Document change order requests.
• monitor field changes and provide redline drawings of the as-built conditions.
• Generate on-site engineering change notifications (ECN), review, and ensure implementation of approved ECNs.
• Ability to prepare permits that are required to perform daily civil duties
• Provide and review test reports for Quality Control

Qualifications

• Looking for 2-3 years' experience in solar plants, power plants or industrial construction
• Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related field is preferred
• 1 - 3 years of field engineering experience, particularly related to solar projects, is desired
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, analytical, time management and communication skills
• Ability to plan and perform complex operations and make decisions
• Passionate about maintaining high standards of safety and quality
• Must be willing and able to travel to relocate to the project location
