LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a growing organization, and they are seeking a motivated Bilingual Regional Human Resources Manager to join their team in Chicago, IL. You will play a crucial role in supporting the manufacturing operations by providing comprehensive HR support to the plant employees and leadership teams. This position requires 3+ years of HR Generalist experience with a focus on payroll, benefits, recruiting, and employee relations, combined with the ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in HR laws and regulations, and possess a deep understanding of manufacturing industry safety and compliance standards. Key Responsibilities:
- HR Support: Provide first-line HR support to plant employees, addressing inquiries and resolving issues related to HR policies, benefits, payroll, and employee relations.
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Oversee recruitment efforts for plant positions, including job postings, interviews, and selection processes. Conduct new hire orientation and ensure a smooth onboarding experience for new employees.
- Payroll & Benefits Administration: Manage payroll processes, including timekeeping, salary adjustments, and benefit administration. Facilitate open enrollment periods and assist employees with benefits-related questions.
- Employee Relations: Act as a liaison between plant employees and management, addressing and resolving employee relations issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure compliance with HR laws and regulations, and stay updated on changes in labor laws. Conduct regular plant walk-throughs with a focus on safety and compliance, adhering to PPE and safety standards.
- Consultation: Provide sound advice and support to Plant Managers and leadership teams on HR-related matters, including disciplinary actions, performance management, and policy implementation.
- Travel: Travel to various plant locations as needed to provide HR support and ensure consistent application of HR policies and practices.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Human Resources Generalist in a manufacturing or plant environment.
- Must be bilingual in Spanish and English, with strong communication skills in both languages.
- In-depth knowledge of HR laws and regulations. Understanding of manufacturing industry safety and compliance standards.
- Experience working within a Union environment is a plus.
- Proven ability to handle sensitive employee relations issues, manage payroll and benefits administration, and effectively recruit and onboard employees.
- Comfortable walking the plant floors, wearing steel-toed shoes, and adhering to PPE requirements.
- Ability to travel as required to various plant locations.
