Project Director - STREAM Program

The University of Texas Permian Basin's College of Education welcomes applications for the position of Project Director for Project STREAM.

Salary Range

$70,000.00 depending on qualifications

Essential Functions

The Project Director will be responsible for day-to-day operation of the program, including management of processes and budgets, program scheduling, planning and staging of events, and coordinating strategic activities related to the project.

1. Oversee, facilitate, and coordinate the implementation of all project components.
2. Manage grant budget, including processing of payments and reconciliation of accounts.
3. Hire and supervise Project staff.
4. Ensure project goal achievement and compliance with federal, state, and institutional rules.
5. Work with an external evaluator to generate and use accurate data to improve operations.
6. Facilitate data-based decision-making, and guide the replication and scaling of project activities.
7. Coordinate professional development activities and opportunities.
8. Communicate progress with the UTPB Office of Research and Sponsored Programs and the federal Title V program officer.
9. Oversee the preparation and submission of all grant reports to the institution and to the US Department of Education.
10. Facilitate the institutionalization of project activities and objectives.

Required Qualifications

1. Master’s degree in education, business, or related field is preferred.
2. A minimum of two (2) years of management experience in education and commitment to the UTPB mission.
3. Experience in project, budget, personnel management, and evaluation.
4. Experience in administration of federal or other sponsored projects.
5. Demonstrated organizational, communication, and fiscal management skills.
6. Strong communication skills and organizational skills.
7. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Demonstrated evidence of being self-motivated and highly detail-oriented.
2. Ability to proactively problem solve.
3. Sound judgment, tact, and the ability to multitask under pressure.
4. P-12 teaching and/or managerial experience.
5. Bilingual (English and Spanish).
6. Experience implementing PeopleSoft systems, Canvas - Education based software will be given preference.

Schedule

Generally, the normal work hours for the university are Monday through Thursday, 7:30 – 5:30 pm; Friday, 8:00 am – 12:00 pm with a one-hour lunch. The individual holding this position may need to be available early morning, evening, and on weekends to meet the needs of the department. Hours worked may differ with some departments.

Standard Working Conditions

1. Able to lift various materials up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis.
2. Able to bend, crouch, and reach continuously.
3. Physically able to remain seated, frequently to continuously.
4. Able to remain standing up to 15% of the time.
5. Possesses dexterity abilities required to perform job duties including extensive keyboard work, operating office equipment, performing filing, and other job-related responsibilities that include extensive wrist and hand movement.
6. Standard working conditions may differ depending on department and occupation.
