Principal Software Engineer - Control Path

Principal Python Software Engineer. Nasuni is expanding scrum teams for the Nasuni Management Console (NMC). The NMC provides a single pane of glass for our global enterprise customers to manage Nasuni’s Hybrid Cloud Storage services. As a Principal Software Engineer, you would be a leader and mentor within a scrum team developing Python services and Django applications in a CentOS environment, and using Amazon Simple Queue Service to communicate in a distributed system.

Responsibilities

  1. Participate in requirements analysis, design, reviews and other work related to expanding Nasuni's Control Path functionality
  2. Develop and maintain Python libraries and services delivered to customers as part of our NAS appliance
  3. Improve and expand the Nasuni Management Console’s REST API
  4. Improve performance, scalability, and stability of various Python libraries
  5. Debug and fix bugs reported by customers, support, QA and development
  6. Work with Sustaining Engineering to address hard-to-resolve customer escalations

Required Skills And Experience We Look For Are...

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  2. At least 8 years of experience in software product development
  3. Experience architecting and developing distributed systems
  4. Prior team leadership and mentoring experience as a Senior or Principal Engineer

Additional experience with the following is helpful for this Principal role...

  1. Django, including Django Rest Framework, or similar web frameworks
  2. JavaScript frameworks and libraries, including React and jQuery
  3. Amazon SQS or other cloud services experience
