Location: Charter School
Reports To: Principal
Salary: $50,000-$57,000
Work Schedule: Full-Time, 10-month

Job Description
Job Summary
The Math Teacher is responsible for coaching, motivating, and instructing high school students within the company model, focusing on each student’s Individual Graduation Plan (IGP). All for-credit courses are aligned to state standards, designed to engage student learning, and accelerate credit accumulation through a mastery-based model. The teacher functions as a coach and mentor, ensuring student success.
Essential Functions
Provide a student-centered learning environment with high accountability, aligned with the school’s academic goals.
Display a deep understanding of the reading process and best instructional practices in content area texts.
Maintain and analyze student progress through various records and reports as required.
Collaborate with peers to develop and implement best educational practices aligned with company goals.
Participate in professional development to maintain certification and credentials.
Assist in initiatives to meet enrollment and attendance goals.
Perform all other duties as assigned, aligned with company policy to achieve educational goals.
Knowledge and Skills Required
Understanding of secondary education principles.
Knowledge of curriculum and instructional theory.
Ability to analyze and use data for program improvement.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Education and Experience Required
Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
Teacher Certification or Statement of Eligibility in Mathematics 6-12.
Minimum of one (1) year high school teaching experience.
Education and Experience Preferred
Experience working with overage and at-risk youth is preferred.
Supervisory Responsibilities
None
Work Environment
The worker is subject to both indoor and outdoor conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.
Physical Demands
Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently
Travel Required
None
