It is part of our recognized Bone & Joint Center, where our highly trained staff includes a team of orthopedic surgeons, sports medicine physicians, physiatrists, rheumatologists, rehab therapists and athletic trainers. Rheumatologists at Straub Clinic & Hospital provide state-of-the-art diagnosis and treatment for diseases that affect the body's connective tissue.As a Medical Assistant, you will join the dedicated team of physicians and medical staff that provide our recognized compassionate health services to patients and their families. In this role, you will perform a wide variety of patient care activities in our Rheumatology department. We are looking for someone detail-oriented and attentive, with strong communications and patient care skills and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.Location: Straub Medical Center, Honolulu, HIWork Schedule: Day - 8 HoursWork Type: Full Time RegularFTE: 1.000000Bargaining Unit: ILWUExempt: NoMinimum Qualifications: High school or equivalent. Completion of a Medical Assistant Program and/or equivalent experience. Certified or Registered Medical Assistant with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA). Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card. Must be able to complete departmental competency assessment by conclusion of orientation period.Preferred Experience: Six (6) months medical assistant experience. Knowledge of Classification Procedural Terminology (CPT) and/or International Classification of Disease (ICD-10) Coding.
