THE POSITION
As a Housing Locator, you will be at the forefront of finding and securing housing opportunities for program participants. You'll use your excellent relationship-building skills to connect with community housing partners, including property owners, managers, and companies, to generate leads and identify potential housing options.
In this exciting role, you'll create and maintain an extensive database of housing leads that will be used by housing case managers and participants to find suitable housing. You'll be out in the field most of the time, working both independently and collaboratively with a dynamic team to implement a strategic plan that brings new and innovative housing solutions to the table.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Develops relationships with property managers and owners to secure housing leads via cold calling, sales prospecting, and AAGLA contacts
  • Maintains a database of affordable housing resources and obtains at least 25 units each month, with 80% being in SPA 2
  • Collects and documents landlord information needed to meet contractual requirements and conducts unit inspections
  • Tracks housing trends and progress using Salesforce, shares housing listings, and uploads data for reporting purposes
  • Strategizes and identifies new housing opportunities beyond traditional one-bedroom apartments
  • Educates landlords on the Housing First model and RRH program, advocates for fair market rents, and conducts outreach to community organizations
  • Follows up with property owners to maintain partnerships and attends agency and community meetings as directed
  • Drive personal vehicles in and around Los Angeles County and drive agency vehicles periodically to transport clients
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed
  • Additional tasks, projects, and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
WHAT YOU'RE SKILLED AT
  • Strong sales experience
  • In-depth knowledge of the housing market, including trends and rates
  • Understanding of the real estate investment industry
  • Familiarity with LA neighborhoods
  • Knowledge of tenant/landlord laws and regulations
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Strong advocacy skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Fluency in Spanish preferred
OTHER:
  • Maintain and execute confidential information according to HIPAA standards
  • Obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Ability to pass post-offer Tuberculosis (TB) clearances
  • Travel is a regular duty for this position and is required 60% of the time
  • Use of a personal vehicle to travel between worksites and other locations is required
  • Must have and maintain a valid California Driver's License and auto insurance in good standing
  • Ability to work a 9/80 work schedule
