Position Summary:

The Analyst will work closely with other investment professionals and will play an integral role in evaluating new investment opportunities through market research and analysis, financial modeling and asset valuation. In addition, the Analyst will support asset management and portfolio management strategies for existing and new investments. The successful candidate will be exposed to a wide range of commercial real estate investment strategies in a fast-paced and challenging environment.

Essential Functions:

  1. Assist in the underwriting and due diligence of new CRE related investment opportunities
  2. Structure/Build detailed financial models and asset valuation tools to support investment decisions
  3. Forecast operating performance, financial projections and business plan scenarios for deal-specific underwriting
  4. Provide support to asset management initiatives by conducting financial analysis and developing and executing business plans
  5. Assist in the preparation of asset-level recommendations for senior management
  6. Prepare strategic plans for assigned properties and contribute to overall portfolio plans
  7. Build and maintain property valuation models using Excel and ARGUS
  8. Produce asset-level reporting on a periodic basis
  9. Assist in the engagement and direction of third-party property managers in development and implementation of operating budgets including capital and leasing plans
  10. Prepare regular update reports on asset performance for senior management
  11. Assist with ad hoc strategic projects

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  1. Strong quantitative skills and demonstrated analytical and problem solving ability
  2. Advanced cash flow and investment modeling skills (Excel and Argus)
  3. High attention to detail and accountability in analytical assessments
  4. Demonstrated ability to interpret data and draw conclusions

Education:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution required
  2. Degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or related area preferred

Experience:

  1. 1-3 years of direct commercial real estate industry, investment banking, or finance experience required (title will be commensurate to experience level)
  2. Prior knowledge of acquisition due diligence and asset management processes is strongly preferred

Other Skills:

  1. Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint (Microsoft Office Suite)
  2. Advanced Excel knowledge, including ability to summarize data via formulas, lookups, Pivot Tables, conditional formatting, etc.

Work Environment:

  1. This job operates in a professional office environment
  2. This position’s hours vary depending on business activity
  3. This position does not require frequent travel, less than 10%. Travel would be domestic
