**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week

**Certifications:** ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
**Must-Have:** Ability to titrate cardiac drips; must pass a dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of offer with 2 maximum attempts, and a pass/fail simulation lab on day one of orientation.
**Job Description:**
- Potential to float between all Telemetry and Medical-Surgical units.
- Required to float to different units mid-shift as needed.
- Floating may include different campuses, with a 9-mile distance between facilities.
- Nurses must clock out before traveling and clock in upon arrival at the new location.
- Unit-specific details:
- For Telemetry units, ratios are 1:3-4, centralized telemetry, and no pediatric patients.
- For Medical-Surgical units, ratios are 1:4, handling diverse diagnoses such as orthopedic, surgical, oncology, and general MedSurg.
- Charge nurse present on units, generally without a patient assignment.
- Weekend requirement is every other weekend.
- Nurses wear navy scrubs.
- Centralized telemetry: RNs must be able to interpret EKGs.
- No ventilator management required.
- Hospitalist rounds during the day, on-call at night.
- No dedicated IV team; nurses expected to perform or request SWAT nurse assistance for difficult IVs.
- Facilities offer pharmacy and respiratory therapy support 24/7.
- Orientation includes one day simulation lab and specific floor orientation.
- Common patient types include post-cath lab, vascular procedures, CABG, neuro post-surgical, spine, CVA post-TPA, and general telemetry.
- Spectralink phones used for communication, with call lights attached to phones.
