The position will offer the opportunity to work on small and large roadway, trail, and transit projects, in urban and rural settings, located in Maryland as well as other areas of the Mid-Atlantic region. Work Location can be Laurel or Baltimore, Maryland.Your Key ResponsibilitiesPerform work on transportation facility projects and studies that include roadways, intersections, bikeways/trails, sidewalks, highways, interchanges, structures, and railways.Utilize technical expertise in areas of design, analysis, public outreach, and project management/coordination.Responsible for tasks that include research, CAD drafting, calculations, data management, quantity take-offs, and technical writing.Responsible for the development of deliverables such as drawings/plans, displays, presentations, specifications, cost estimates, and reports.Work effectively with project teams; perform technical reviews; delegate tasks and mentor junior engineering staff, as necessary.Attend meetings and interface with client technical staff.Maintain adherence to project schedules/milestones, budgets, and scopes.Participate in field investigations as needed.QualificationsYour Capabilities and CredentialsProficient with Bentley CAD programs including MicroStation, Open Roads Designer, ProjectWise; legacy Bentley products such as Inroads or GeoPakProficient with Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint), Adobe, and BluebeamFamiliarity with transportation design manuals, standards, and procedures, such as the AASHTO Green Book and the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control DevicesFamiliarity with state, county, and municipal transportation agencies in the Mid-Atlantic regionStrong communication, technical writing, and critical thinking skillsCommitment to client satisfaction, as well as team and personal growthProfessional, ethical, positive, team-oriented, organized, proactive, and adaptable approach to challengesAbility to work well under pressure and deadlines, work independently, think clearly, have organized thoughts, and draw logical conclusionsFamiliarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D; and/or Geographic Information SystemsEducation and ExperienceBachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or universityProfessional Engineer (P.E.) registration in Maryland, Virginia, and/or District of Columbia5 years’ experience in transportation design and analysis for a professional engineering firmThis description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that may be required of the employee and other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or may be changed at any time with or without notice.Stantec is a place where the best and brightest come to build on each other's talents, do exciting work, and make an impact on the world around us.
