Summary of Position Mission
The Financial Analyst position primarily serves as the finance subject matter expert supporting and aligning with the Commercial team. The position will be the key go to individual for all commercial analytics, metrics and modelling. This position will also support the Accounting department in order to ensure a cohesive commercial strategy and financial controls.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare financial models and conduct profitability analysis sales proposals to ensure compliance with financial guidelines and applicable National Accounts Agreements
  • Develop financial analysis for proposed Sales/Marketing programs and ad hoc requests
  • Help establish and maintain Commercial metrics to ensure Company is achieving goals
  • Help analyze competitive environment for adjacency expansion, improvements in channel, product development and life cycle among others
  • Assist with annual commercial budget - updating forecast as appropriate
  • Prepare and distribute monthly reports including margin analysis, product mix, geographic mix, commissions, etc.
  • Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with Sales and Marketing teams; establish effective cross-functional relationships with Accounting/Finance, and other functional support teams
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Support and adhere to all ISO standards applicable to the Company.
  • Wears all necessary Personal Protective Equipment directed by the Company at all times.
  • Demonstrates complete working knowledge of firearms safety.
  • Maintains and keeps workstation and department area clean.
  • Immediately reports any maintenance and/or safety issues to Management.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude toward co-workers, other department and the Company.
  • Maintains respect, courtesy and professionalism toward all co-workers and the Company.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively with co-workers and management.
  • Actively participate and support the 5S process within the work area on a daily basis.
  • Other duties will be assigned as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business Administration/Management
  • 3-7 years of experience in finance or accounting
  • Solid Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP formulas)
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills, with ability to communicate analytical details and conclusions/recommendations in a concise, easily understandable manner
  • Well-developed organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a deadline-driven environment
  • Strong written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills; team player with ability to interact and collaborate effectively both cross-functionally and with all levels of management
  • Knowledge of ERP systems; Epicor preferred
