OBJECTIVES:

R&D has centralized Lab Operations for supply of materials, equipment and services. The next stage in this evolution requires a Lab Asset leader. This person will be responsible for the delivery and operational management of the asset management processes & systems. The focus of this role is to assure delivery of the lab ops business plan savings.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement the new lab equipment asset system and their supporting lifecycle management processes.
  • Deliver global visibility of all Lab equipment and their attendant asset lifecycle costs. Set targets to fulfill the business case benefits for laboratory asset management operations optimization in terms of data visibility, cost efficiency and service to lab teams.
  • Be a prominent change leader for new global processes interacting with external vendors, global procurement, and scientific functions.
  • Build an exceptional data foundation (including consistent master data) to support the new LEMS systems. Partner with Finance/Takeda Business Services to align data consistency & reporting related to lab equipment assets.
  • Design and drive AI-enhanced improvements to the Lab equipment lifecycle management and planning for the future R&D 585 Kendall Square Campus.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Lead the transition to a sound data foundation for all lab equipment decisions based on a new & evolving LEMS. Lead LEMS system configuration decisions and troubleshoot with IT/Vendor all issues before going-live.
  • Implement new lab equipment lifecycle processes across the laboratory footprint for all Massachusetts sites underpinning LEMS.
  • Deliver key components for effective Lab Equipment Management for Takeda R&D.
  • Resolve challenges with cross-campus lab asset planning.
  • Use Asset management principles to guide specification of KPI’s for Lab Operations program. Deliver dashboard(s) that provide clear performance reporting for each type of lab asset. Support R&D finance team for reporting needs on Lab Equipment CAPEX & maintenance OPEX.
  • Set out pathway for evolution of Equipment stewardship over the next 3 years.

EDUCATION, BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

  • BS or MS degree required in science / technology / business subject.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of managerial experience including supply chain planning and experience of R&D planning (such as clinical trials).
  • Proven track record of driving business process improvement and systems/planning change.
  • Operational experience in supply chain planning with significant focus on operations planning and materials management.

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$149,100.00 - $234,300.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
