**Job Description:**
- Demonstrate the ability to adjust techniques to ensure patients receive the best study possible while maintaining image quality.
- Report malfunctioning equipment to the supervisor or service provider for timely correction.
- Clean, disinfect, and maintain equipment according to infection control policies and department cleaning schedules.
- Properly operate all radiographic equipment safely and competently.
- Obtain complete clinical histories and assess for contraindications.
- Ensure all studies have proper patient identification and markers.
- Review radiographic images for clinically acceptable results and release patients.
- Respond to emergency situations using critical thinking skills.
- Seek clarification on ambiguous orders.
- Assist other technologists in all modalities when needed.
- Observe patient conditions and properly evaluate situations requiring physician intervention.
- Verify patient identifiers per policy and clinician orders prior to procedures.
- Ensure patient privacy and comfort.
- Demonstrate competence in procedure determination and application based on patient age.
- Understand and document pre-procedure verification and time-out processes when applicable.
- Follow physician instructions for procedures and exams.
- Apply Read Back and Confirm when taking verbal orders.
- Clearly explain the purpose and nature of exams to patients using the AIDET framework.
- Participate in orientation and training of departmental employees.
- Produce acceptable images with a first-time acceptance rate of 95 percent.
- Ensure equipment is operational prior to each use by checking calibrations and operating deficiencies.
- Complete all studies in the RIS, ensuring correct image orientation, marking, and labeling.
- Maintain all documentation to meet accreditation standards.
- Perform QC tests for ACR/MQSA standards, including phantom and visual checks.
- Restock linens and supplies, and maintain department cleanliness.
- Assist patients on and off procedure tables.
- Document patient follow-up data.
- Perform routine clerical duties as needed to ensure service continuity.
- Maintain productivity rates equal to co-workers.
- Comply with Joint Commission and other regulatory standards.
- Familiarity with the Mammography Tracking System and EQUIP program.
