Berkshire Hathaway GUARD Insurance Companies is seeking a Propert y U nderwriter for our Programs business. We are looking for an individual with significant Commercial Property underwriting experience to be a lead on Commercial Property Programs. The ideal candidate will also have experience underwriting BOP and/or other Commercial Package lines (e.g. GL, Commercial Auto). They will be responsible for underwriting new and renewal business and will work closely with both the internal Underwriting team and our external Program Administrator/MGA partners.

Responsibilities

Be a lead underwriter for Commercial Property based programs, as well as underwriting other program-related commercial package products, in accordance with GUARD and Program Underwriting Guidelines
- Be a Commercial Property resource to both the internal Underwriting team as well as external Program Administrators/MGAs for various programs.
- Assist with establishing and updating Program Underwriting Guidelines and alignment with established and evolving GUARD guidelines.
- Conduct Program Audits and produce audit findings
- Facilitate meetings with internal and external program participants and assist with portfolio management projects and analysis.
- Other responsibilities as our Programs business grows
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of Commercial Property underwriting experience required.
- Additional experience underwriting other commercial product lines (e.g GL, Commercial Auto) preferred
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team environment
- Effective workflow prioritization and management skills
- Effect communicate skills, working with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience with portfolio analysis and management
- Willingness to travel to assigned Program Administrator locations, as necessary
- Underwriting auditing experience
