Pay Range: $95,000-$110,00 Per Year. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined when selecting an applicant for hire and will depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, skill set, experience, education, credentials, and licensure when applicable.
The Human Resources Payroll Manager - This is a leadership role for Toyota of North Hollywood (TNH) with no direct reports who also collaborates with a team of Payroll and HR administrators to complete various projects, policies, and initiatives under the Group Human Resources Operations umbrella.
What will you do as the Human Resources Payroll Manager - Work in tandem with the corporate payroll team to accurately prepare commission and bonus files for payroll processing. Document exceptions, and reconciliation of TNH payroll processed which comprises two payroll frequencies, monthly and semi-monthly. Request and process ad hoc off-cycle payrolls to offboard employees and adjustment checks. Work directly with the General Manager to write up compensation plans. Calculation of manager commissions and bonus plans. Administer and maintain employee records, status change workflows, and digital processes in the HRIS system.
Ensuring that employee files, paid benefit hours, wage reports, and compensation plans adhere to government compliance, enforcing payroll due dates and protocols according to the Company and Human Resources policies and procedures. Review, reconcile, and pay internal HR, benefits, and payroll billings upon receipt. Occasionally, upon employee request research transactions relating to earnings or payroll deductions. Administer and track employee leave of absence and interactive processes for return to work.
Assigning and tracking mandatory compliance training, assisting, and training new hires on the HRIS system to access their employee profile. Main point of contact for TNH workers comp. claims. Collaborates with Hiring Managers to recruit, hire, and onboard new hires. Occasionally, mediates employee concerns, assists employees with employment and/or payroll-related questions, and completes government agency surveys. Organizes company on and off-site employee events (e.g., monthly luncheons, summer picnic, and holiday dinner party).

What do we look for in our Payroll Manager (Human Resources)?
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to spot numerical errors
  • Strong working knowledge of Human Capital Management (HCM) systems
  • Understanding Regulatory Compliance laws concerning California and federal payroll and tax regulations
  • Expert knowledge of logic calculations using Microsoft Excel spreadsheets
  • Administrative-level knowledge of working with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)
  • Client-focused attitude with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong problem-solving with the ability to communicate and share solutions with leadership
  • Ability to prioritize
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration (preferred). Or CPP Payroll Certification and combined work experience equivalent
  • Strong MS Products skills (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Experience with UKG aka UltiPro HCM system, Kronos, and Cognos BI (preferred)
