We are seeking a Vice President of finance to join FoundationCCC in its mission of benefitting, supporting, and enhancing the California Community Colleges-the largest and most diverse system of higher education in the nation. What You'll Do
This position represents an exciting opportunity to support the ongoing mission-driven growth of a high-impact non-profit organization that serves to benefit, support, and enhance the California Community Colleges, the largest system of higher education in the nation. This role requires a strong sense of analytics, technical competence, ability to understand mission-driven business strategies, ability to translate financial concepts to terms that non-finance professionals can understand, and ability to teach, coach, and mentor others at all levels of the organization. This position will be a strategic storyteller with the finance team and business leads to connect financial budgets, forecasts, and results to programmatic business strategies, our organizational strategic plan, and mission-driven impact for our diverse array of complex programs and services. This role will collaborate with the Controller to provide oversight of programmatic AR, grant reporting, contract administration, and financial close processes (monthly/quarterly/annual) as it relates to FoundationCCC's 400+ projects within our six Areas of Impact.
  • Strengthen the connection between programmatic accounting and reporting and the business strategies of FoundationCCC's programs
  • This role will be a strategic storyteller, able to work collaboratively with the finance team and business leads to connect financial budgets, forecasts, and results to programmatic business strategies, our organizational strategic plan, and mission-driven impact.
  • Prepare and share timely financial data that clearly articulates financial performance, financial health, and mission-aligned impact at departmental and project-levels, to improve transparency and empower program leads to make sound decisions
Attributes for Success
  • Strong understanding, or ability to gain strong understanding, of the Workday accounting system (including Adaptive) and Salesforce.
  • A commitment to FoundationCCC's mission and goals; the ability to interact easily with leaders at all levels, including the CFO, CEO and executive team, board members, colleagues, staff, stakeholders and professionals across the California Community College system.
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills; a team player who understands and can analyze and communicate the financial implications of business plans and activities and relay that information to external stakeholders, finance team members, internal staff, and board members.

Budgeted Annual Salary Pay Range:
$200,000.00 - $235,000.00
Final salary and rates are based on education, experience, skills relevant to the role, and internal equity.
