Department Overview
The Technology Solutions (“TS”) Department is responsible for designing and delivering state of the art technology solutions that are designed to create efficiency, mitigate risk and grow revenue for the Firm. Technology Solutions is also responsible for defining, managing and executing a robust Cyber Security program following the NIST Cyber Security Framework. Technology Solutions focuses on technical excellence through innovative application designs, robust data integration and analytics, high availability infrastructure and gold level service for our key stakeholders with information security embedded throughout. Critical functions within Technology Solutions include Project Management, Vendor Management, Business Analysis, Enterprise Data Governance and Stewardship, Application Development and 3rd Party Integration, Strategic and Secure Infrastructure and Operations. The Technology Solutions Department collaborates closely with Firm leadership and business unit heads to develop plans in line with business objectives.
Position Responsibilities
This is a hands-on position in our Application Development Team focused on our in-house proprietary applications and third-party vendor systems across several key Accounting functions. The role includes business analysis, software configuration, project management, quality assurance, functional design, application support, vendor management and any other duties related to the usage of these applications. The ideal candidate has demonstrated recent experience as a Business Analyst, interacting with users, working with a development team, writing business requirements, functional specifications, process flows and writing and executing test plans.
The ideal candidate must be able to perform the following:
- Become a subject matter expert in the core business functions and technology solutions
- Develop detailed requirements documentation including user stories, use cases, design specifications, business process and data flows and acceptance criteria
- Independently execute complex data analysis across multiple platforms
- Build solutions that leverage our existing investment in a Microsoft-based technology environment following best practices that will allow applications to scale and be easily maintained
- Participate in problem analysis with business users and assist in determining strategic software solutions and enhancements
- Manage support issues raised by the business through to resolution and within defined support SLAs
- Build strong and productive relationships with key business user, technology colleagues, and technology vendors to convey pain points, requirements and process improvements in a clear and concise manner
- Confidently facilitate meetings with business users and technology colleagues
- Develop and execute comprehensive unit and integration test plans
- Ensure that all delivered solutions meet the highest quality standards and satisfy all specified business requirements through rigorous validation and testing
Candidate Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree is required with 3+ years of work experience in the financial industry as an analyst or similar role working with enterprise-level applications is required
- Strong analytical skills to digest, document and translate business requirements for in-house development or customizing / configuring third-party software products
- Prior working knowledge of Azure DevOps or other similar work item management to manage and prioritize backlog items is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues, dissect calculations, and articulate solutions
- Strong mathematical skills and/or experience with accounting systems is a plus.
- Experience in integration between different systems is a strong plus
- Programming experience, database experience or data analysis using SQL a plus
- A good understanding of the agile development life cycle and familiarity with Microsoft Dev-Ops is a plus
- Self-motivated and able to multi-task with a positive can-do and ‘no job too small’ attitude
- Experience in planning and executing test plans
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation skills
- Results oriented with a high level of personal accountability
