Job Description
The Amcor Business Development Sales Manager will lead a high-performance team of sales professionals for the Amcor Flexibles North America Business Group. This role will be responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction and growth of top lines sales through his or her leadership of the team, as well as having responsibility for prospecting their own set of leads. The team provides sales coverage remotely with a primary focus on new account acquisition. This position is also responsible for embracing and improving the processes and procedures for the AFNA Business Developmental Program. This is an advanced level requiring independent management with additional accountability to sales and marketing directors. Accounts, projects, and markets assigned to this position are strategic in scope. This position would be reporting to a BU sales director.
What You Get To Do
- Lead Business Development team members, providing direction and mentoring in alignment with the focused Business Development concept and strategy. The team members are remote based in their respective territories.
- Lead a high performing sales team by selecting, training, and developing personnel.
- Meet sales plan and manage accurate rolling forecast.
- Develop professional business relationships with a wide array of people and businesses through strategic sales practices and actions.
- Routinely exhibit professional selling, negotiation, and coaching skills.
- Meet working capital goals by managing inventory and unearned customer payment discounts.
- Manage strategic customer relationships and effectively negotiate business deals.
- Maintain positive, professional, and effective interactive relationships with customer service, pricing, marketing, R&D, graphics, demand planning, talent recruiting team and sales.
- Obtain and develop new opportunities in AFNA’s core target markets to support growth and profit expectations to enable differentiation in the market.
- Responsible for onboarding and training of new sales hires inside of Business Development.
- Maintain appropriate product and industry knowledge. Understand internal core technologies and external customer needs to create and promote value added selling opportunities within the team.
- Participate in customer visits and attend as appropriate market segment sales and pricing meetings.
- Analyze data and effectively manage pipeline and team as a result by understanding trends and inefficiencies.
What We Want From You
- Education – Bachelor’s Degree Required.
- A minimum of 7-10 years of successful sales or related experience.
- Demonstrate good business acumen and a professional presentation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc).
- Travel Requirement – 30%.
