As a member of the Division of Undergraduate Education, the Educational Partnership Center (EPC) provides an array of school-centered and student-centered activities for students, parents, faculty, and community members across the Monterey Bay and Silicon Valley/San Jose regions to support students on the college-going pathway.
JOB SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the EPC deputy director, the incumbent will oversee the GEAR UP programs in Pajaro Valley, Salinas, and South Monterey County. The incumbent will provide leadership in program policy, development, implementation, assessment, contract negotiation, communication and evaluation.
APPOINTMENT INFORMATION
Budgeted Salary: $99,600 - $106,590/year. Salary commensurate with skills, qualifications and experience.

SCHEDULE INFORMATION
- Full-time, Fixed
- Percentage of Time: 100%, 40 Hours per Week

JOB DUTIES
50% - Program Management, Supervision, and Evaluation
- Responsible for planning and directing the EPC's GEAR UP programs with the goal of increasing college access and preparation for low-income, first generation, underrepresented students.
- In partnership with K-12, postsecondary and community partners and program staff, foster college-going and completion cultures at partner K-12 districts/schools.
- Responsible for meeting program deliverables; developing and implementing programming and policy decisions that are in compliance with federal and state grant guidelines.
- Responsible for human resources management of subordinates, including the hiring, supervision, training, and mentoring needed in support of their success.
30% - Budget Management and Resource Securement
- Oversight of the GEAR UP programs' spending plans.
- Work closely with the executive director and the EPC Development Director to identify and secure resources sufficient to sustain and expand program services.
20% - Collaboration, Communication, and Community Building
- Build, coordinate, and sustain flexible intersegmental partnerships.
- Increase public awareness and engage stakeholders around program goals, needs, and issues.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
- Extensive experience designing, managing, implementing and evaluating K-12 college preparation and access programs.
- Five years' work experience in college access and preparation programs.
- Four years of experience supervising professional and support staff.
- Demonstrated cultural competency with respect to race, ethnicity, and socioeconomic status.
- Excellent writing experience sufficient to produce correspondence, annual performance reports, grant proposals, and publications.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree in education, psychology, or a related field.
- Experience managing the delivery of in-person and virtual services.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Selected candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment criminal history background check.
- Must possess a valid license to drive in the state of California.
