Engineer - Reading, PA
We have an immediate opening for an Engineer at our Corporate office.
Hours are 8 am - 5 pm Monday through Friday
The Engineer will design and develop project submittals, new products, and product improvements. Employee may perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Generate engineering submittals for large municipal works projects.
  • Interface with contractors, engineers, and municipal authorities to obtain and understand customer requirements from engineering drawings, written engineering specifications, written and oral customer correspondence.
  • Generate engineering drawings, circuit designs, material selections, bills of material, and other necessary documentation for submittal to customers for approval.
  • Write submittal letters and other official correspondence. Visit job sites when necessary.
  • Assist with design of components in support of marketing strategies, customer specifications, quality initiatives, and cost reductions.
  • Evaluate, analyze, and make recommendations on products, designs, and cost improvements to improve the competitive position of the company.
  • Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering and design tasks.
Essential Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Engineering from four-year college or university; 5+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. We will consider new and recent graduates!
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Ability to use appropriate engineering formulas and calculate the associated solutions to engineering problems.
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
