The role involves applied research, design, development, testing, manufacturing, and documentation of products and systems. You will work with customers to understand requirements, analyze and validate design concepts, and provide direction to engineers and technicians. It offers excellent opportunities for long-term career growth in a dynamic multinational technology company.RESPONSIBILITIES:Develop designs, prototypes, and experiments from concept to commercializationCollaborate with electrical engineers on PCB assembliesImprove production processes for cost, yield, and cycle timeProduce detailed models, drawings, and bills of materialsSupport existing product lines through sustaining engineeringCommunicate with vendors and contractorsParticipate in design reviews and FMEA analysisUpdate and design new systems for the product portfolioAssist in product installation and commissioningValidate thermal and mechanical aspects through simulation and modelingPrototype using in-house tools and materialsEnsure compliance with EMC, environmental testing, and hazardous location ratingsWORK ENVIRONMENT:Works in a standard office environment utilizing standard office equipment, engineering lab and in a manufacturing facilityQUALIFICATIONS:Minimum five years of experience in mechanical design and product developmentPay and title will be dependent on education and experienceStrong communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and collaborativelyProficiency with SolidWorks, ePDM, and simulation tools (FEA, CFD, Thermal)Knowledge in material selection for high-temperature environments and semiconductor processing chemicalsExperience with semiconductor process equipment design preferredFamiliarity with optomechanical design, DFM, DFA, and creating system designsCapable of assembling and repairing delicate assembliesFamiliar with Gauge R&R, ECO process, and transfer-to-manufacturing processesWorking knowledge of UL, CSA, ATEX, NEMA, ANSI, and IPC specificationsFamiliar with machine shop practices, sheet metal fabrication, and designing/testing for outdoor and hazardous areasFamiliarity with vacuum equipment and related design constraintsEDUCATION:Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent), Master of Science degree preferredCOMPENSATION:As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.
