About the Role
Infrastructure Engineering Inc. (IEI) has an opportunity for an experienced Controller to join our Finance and Accounting Team! We are a leading engineering firm known for quality and responsiveness and a proven track record of success as a Prime civil engineering firm. The Controller will manage the Accounting and Finance Department, maintain completely accurate records of the firm's transactions, and review financial statements to determine the firm's financial health and take action accordingly. Essential Duties/Functions and Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Controller does whatever is required for the firm to perform well financially, meet legal requirements, and keep the financial state in good standing. This position will work closely with the President and other Senior Leadership Members. The Controller is responsible for the financial reporting and financial soundness of the firm. Responsibilities include:
- Prepare financial reports, financial forecasts and statements to understand the financial state of business and coordinate with external auditors
- Supports the CFO in managing the Budget process including preparing Operating Budgets, and monitoring variances
- Monitors the firm's financial reports and conducts financial analysis to identify efficiency trends in areas of cost reduction
- Oversee the daily accounting operations including A/R, A/P, Invoicing, Expense Reports, payroll, Month-End Close, Year-End Close and completion of the Form-5500
- Manages the collection of delinquent accounts receivable
- Supervises all assigned accounting and support staff
- Oversee Regulatory Reporting including Tax Planning and Compliance
- Maintains and reports all financial statistics regarding the firm's performance, according to GAAP, including cash flow, accrual P&L, and balance sheet.
- Develops and maintains a firmwide database of information on past projects/clients from a profitability and historical collections point of view
- Supports the CFO in guiding the firm's strategic financial decisions
- Assists the CFO in identifying prospective bankers, financial opportunities and developing relationships and educates them about the business of the firm and negotiate banking/credit terms
- Note, this position may require some extra hours or weekends to meet deadlines, and high demand during peak Finance seasons
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics and/or Business Administration required; MBA, CPA, or Certified Controller desired
- The ideal candidate will bring over 10 years' experience as a Controller or similar role in the AEC or EPC Industry preferably

- Intermediate to advance experience with Deltek VantagePoint or similar CRM system
- Technical Accounting skills
- Strong financial reporting experience
- Demonstrates Integrity and ethical decision making
- Able to coordinate and lead Audits
- Prepare and complete accurate financial statements
- Able to create Budgets and Forecast
- Able to analyze cost and profits
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Effective verbal and written communication skills to convey and translate financial concepts, ideas, and accurate information to individuals at all levels
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Minimum of 5 years' supervisory experience

Pay Range: $99,000 - $130,000 per year
