Reassignment: Current New York State (NYS) Department of Health (DOH) employee with permanent or contingent permanent service as an Office Assistant 1 Stores/Mail, Grade 6.
NY HELPS: There are no minimum education or experience requirements for this title.
Duties Description The incumbent will perform mailroom services of a routing nature, including sorting and distributing mail, keeping records of registered or certified mail, picking up and delivering mail; primarily within the DOH space in the Empire State Plaza; process outgoing mail; operate postal machines and other equipment as necessary; receive, store, and distribute office supplies, equipment, furniture, publications, and other printed materials as assigned. May occasionally operate a motor vehicle to pick up and deliver mail to satellite offices.
Additional Comments Full-time, permanent position. Transfer candidates may be asked for the last four digits of their social security number to determine eligibility.
