OPPORTUNITY

Under the direct supervision of the Facilities Manager, the Facilities Associate is responsible for providing on-site facility services and day-to-day maintenance for Green Dot’s schools in Los Angeles, CA. Major job responsibilities include maintaining safe and working facilities for our students, employees, and visitors, repairing and fixing building and furniture related issues, managing custodial staff, and coordinating with external vendors.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provide facility- and maintenance-related services for all Green Dot schools as assigned.
  2. Respond to facilities requests in a timely manner using the maintenance work order system; work orders are accurately inputted, scheduled, closed, and tracked with superb communication to requestor.
  3. Proactively identify facilities maintenance needs.
  4. Ensure custodial staff is maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  5. Ensure school staff are adhering to facilities safety per local and state code requirements and general best practices (extension cords, storage, etc.).
  6. Travel between all Green Dot school sites as needed.
  7. Be willing and able to work overtime, Saturdays, and Sundays (as needed) in order to serve Green Dot Los Angeles schools.
  8. Have the ability to respond to any facility-related emergency 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  9. Work cooperatively and effectively with faculty and staff, without direct supervision on some assigned projects.
  10. Willing and able to assume additional tasks as directed by the Facilities Manager and/or the Director of Facilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); trade certification/licensing is a plus.
  2. Skills and knowledge to perform facility maintenance activities and light repair, including (but not limited to) those for heating, ventilation, air conditioning, electrical, plumbing, furniture repair, lock repair, drywall, painting/plastering, carpet, and roofs.
  3. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
  4. Basic computer skills.
  5. At least 3 years of experience in the area of facility maintenance, including the routine use of power tools.
  6. Able to bend, squat, kneel, and lift at least 50 lbs.
  7. Able to climb and balance upon ladders 6.0 feet tall or less.
  8. Handle a variety of tasks at one time.
  9. Complete assigned tasks and projects in a timely and effective manner.
  10. Exercise discretion in the dissemination of information.
  11. Access to a personal vehicle in good working order, a valid Driver's License, and a clean driving record, as well as proof of auto insurance is required.
  12. Dependable, have a sense of humor, and a rock-solid commitment to Green Dot’s mission and the communities we serve.
  13. Will need to pass a TB test and background check at time of offer.
  14. Will need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (submission of proof of vaccination will be required).

COMPENSATION
