Position Summary: ** **The primary purpose of the Compliance Specialist position is to support the implementation and management of the Compliance program. This individual will execute the activities that ensure agency operations are compliant with applicable laws, regulations, and standards, good business practices, and company documented procedures. This position requires the incumbent to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and outcomes. The employee must be self-directed and able to work independently. This position requires a consistent and frequent degree of team involvement to ensure efficiency, consistency, and optimum performance.
Essential Duties:
Understand and promote the organization’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values to ensure alignment with organizational policies and procedures
Develop and implement innovative healthcare compliance programs, ensuring alignment with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
Conduct thorough audits with a solution-driven approach, identifying areas for improvement while ensuring adherence to compliance policies and procedures
Collaborate across departments to provide innovative compliance solutions, offering clear guidance and enhancing overall compliance awareness
Stay updated on changes in healthcare laws and regulations, proactively assessing their impact on organizational compliance and developing forward-thinking strategies
Assist in creating and delivering dynamic training programs that educate staff on compliance policies, ethical standards, and industry best practices
Investigate and resolve reported compliance concerns with meticulous attention to detail, working closely with stakeholders to implement effective corrective actions
Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and meticulously documented records of compliance activities, ensuring clear audit trails and accountability
Serve as the organization’s primary liaison with regulatory agencies during inspections and audits, ensuring seamless communication and thorough documentation
Participate in the continuous improvement of policies and procedures, applying an innovative, solution-oriented approach to enhance compliance efforts
Collaborate with legal counsel to interpret and implement healthcare regulations accurately and efficiently
Support the Compliance Committee by providing documentation, insights, and guidance to ensure the organization’s compliance initiatives are successful
Foster strong in-person collaboration as a key function, ensuring effective teamwork and problem-solving
Perform other administrative duties that support specific agency departments, always with a focus on providing innovative, solution-driven support
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field
Experience in healthcare compliance, leveraging a solution-driven approach to address complex regulatory challenges
Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, Privacy, and Medicaid, applying meticulous attention to detail in compliance documentation and implementation
Extensive knowledge of Local, State, and Federal laws and regulations related to managed care, integrated care, and healthcare services, utilizing innovative strategies to ensure adherence and operational excellence
Key Competencies
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to implement innovative, tech-savvy training methods and effectively educate staff on compliance and best practices
Detail-oriented with a focus on meticulous documentation, strong analytical skills, and a strategic mindset for developing solution-driven approaches to complex challenges
Tech-savvy and a fast learner, with the ability to quickly adapt to new tools and technologies to enhance compliance processes
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, applying strategic thinking and innovative approaches to multiple priorities to ensure success in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
