Supplier Quality Engineer (supplier quality & manufacturing exp. req.) Description
Our client is looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join their innovative team near South Bound Brook, NJ. This is an onsite position. Reporting to the Director of Quality, you'll be responsible for overseeing each aspect of supplier management. From vetting new suppliers to non-conformances and from audits to quality agreements, you'll play a key role in ensuring the highest standards are adhered to. Supplier Quality Engineer (supplier quality & manufacturing exp. req.) Responsibilities
• Oversee supplier performance and communicate concerns
• Complete risk assessment and act as a lead auditor
• Support suppliers with analysis including FMEA
• Review and communicate change notifications
• Assist with the dispositioning of nonconforming materials
• Evaluate defect trends and initiate corrective actions
• Partner cross-functionally to ensure precise components specifications
• Assist with APQP in design and process evaluations
• Initiate opportunities to leverage lean manufacturing and six-sigma principles
• Review quality performance and corrective actions with customers and suppliers
• Determine supplier capabilities for new components and processes
Supplier Quality Engineer (supplier quality & manufacturing exp. req.) Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree required
• 3+ years of quality engineering experience required
• Minimum 1 year of managing suppliers required
• Background in a manufacturing environment required
• Able to work onsite daily required
