THE ROLE

If figuring out market trends, staying ahead of this season's fashion, and analyzing data is exciting to you, being a Shoe Palace buyer may be the perfect fit. We are looking for someone who will drive the overall strategic business vision and well-represent the SP brand.

HERE'S WHAT A DAY AT WORK MAY LOOK LIKE...

• Determine the retailer's needs (Research fashion trends, season, consumer needs, and quantities)
• Select the supplier (purchase the right merchandise at the best price, in the right quantity, of the right quality from reliable suppliers)
• Negotiate purchases (Establish relationships with vendors and be able to hammer out the best deals. This job requires confidence and knowledge)
• Analyze business performance and present strategic next steps to the leadership team
• Partner with the planning team to construct and manage seasonal financial targets
• Follow up on current buying brands (How well are the supplier and product working for SP)
• Coordinate and attend meetings with vendors and buying team
• Travel to trade shows and vendors to identify upcoming trends that pertain to the brand (Represent SP)

ABOUT YOU...

• 4-6 years of buying experience with experience in retail
• Must have extensive vendor negotiation and interaction
• Self-motivated type (passionate about your brand)
• A well-informed buyer is a must
• Comfortable with analytical and quantitative analysis of financial data (Strong retail math)
• How well do you handle stress? Deadlines are fun? Perfect!
• Computer Savvy (Excel Guru

IT WOULD BE GREAT BUT NOT COMPLETELY NECESSARY TO HAVE...

• Bachelor's Degree in Fashion, Business, or a related field.
• Experience in the retail industry with emphasis in athletic footwear.
